PTA Mission Statement

  • Positively impact the educational experience of NYSMS students
  • Provide educational enrichment through family participation
  • Create a partnership between students, teachers, administration and parents


  • To welcome families and teachers as partner members of our PTA community
  • To foster a supportive relationship between parents and school staff
  • To facilitate communications between school and family
  • To encourage families to volunteer time and resources to meet established goals
  • To raise funds to supplement school curriculum/enrichment


PTA membership is open to guardians and teachers of NYCMS students.  Dues aren’t required, but donations (financial and/or in-kind) are sought to support academic enrichment goals.  

The PTA asks all parents donate a suggested amount of $100 (or, whatever your family can afford), with the ultimate goal being 100% family participation. 

This is an important time for your teen – okay, they’ll grumble, but your involvement is needed to support efforts of our hard working educators.  Please make the time to join us.
